Memoir Ghostwriting for Professional Athletes

Memoir Ghostwriting- for Professional Athletes, and Sports Stars: Baseball, Basketball, Golf & More

Charlottesville, VA Virginia, Maryland, Washington D.C. USA Memoir Book Ghostwriting

While the concept of ghostwriting isn't new, its prevalence in the sports world is particularly pronounced. Athletes, often juggling rigorous training schedules, demanding competitions, and media appearances, rarely have the time or, sometimes, the inclination, to pen their own stories. This is where the ghostwriter steps in, acting as both scribe and storyteller.   Enter the ghostwriting experience of J. Stewart Dixon and Book Done For You.

This isn’t a vanity project:

You wish to write a book that others enjoy, recommend and positively and enthusiastically review––with nothing less than five stars. You wish to write a book that is the real deal––not just a laundry list of your accomplishments. A book that is engaging, fun, inspiring, cathartic, emotional and entertaining––all rolled into one. You want it to change lives, inspire peers, win awards and sell thousands of copies.  Right? Yes?  >>> Hell yes!

Which sports you ask?: Basketball, Football, Baseball, Soccer, Tennis, Golf, Olympic Athletes, Weight Training, Rugby, Fly Fishing, Tournament Bass Fishing- ALL of THEM.  But how can you be an expert in all sports? We're not. You're the expert in your sport. We're the expert at researching, crafting, editing and ghostwriting - your story.

Book Done For You owner, J. Stewart Dixon is...

a multi-award-winning, Amazon best-selling memoir author, writer and editor. He has a degree in media communications (1991) from the S.I. Newhouse School of Communications at Syracuse University. He brings a considerable amount of expertise, creativity and craft to the table for your memoir book.

Your Sports Memoir Book MUST Have: Dramatic Narrative

Book Done For You specializes in Sports Memoirs with Dramatic Narrative.

Yes, even sports memoirs need to have dramatic story structure and narrative. Without the story element your memoir risks being a boring laundry list of things you did, people you met and problems you encountered. (Good––but not good enough for a book.)

You might have gone through hell or high water to achieve success (or failure). You might have come close to losing everything a hundred times, but persevered. You might have a hundred different stories or experiences to share, from decades in the business. ALL of this is excellent, beautiful and awesome, BUT… But as far as your book is concerned, if you don't have that dramatic story structure as the foundation, your efforts to promote and sell it are doomed. Without dramatic narrative, your intended book goals will fail.

I’ve written, rewritten, developed and edited a large number of memoirs. Most of them suffer from two basic problems: 1. The author isn’t courageous enough to reveal the full emotional content and impact of their experiences or stories. 2. The story has no dramatic arc to it. No hero. No struggle and final triumph. No – “Holy shit!  What’s going to happen to this guy next!?” – moments. Most novice, inexperienced memoir writers make this vital mistake––of writing a boring laundry list of “stuff.”   This won't happen if J. Stewart Dixon ghostwrites your book.  You won't just be the wizened expert- you'll be the hero.

Is YOUR STORY dramatic? Engaging? Interesting? Fun? Edgy?  It will be.

EMOTION is what sells a memoir.

Emotion sells books, turns heads and captivates readers.

Without true emotion your book is sunk. What Book Done For You ghost writing helps you to do––through extensive interviews and one-on-one sessions–– is to get to the bottom of those emotions…those triumphs…those failures…those pains…those struggles…those flaws. We’ll safely help you reveal, share and express those emotions. Do just a little of this––and you’ll have the secret sauce for a hit book, that everyone will love and––that sells and establishes you as a true expert in your field.

EMOTIONS - triumphs, losses, flaws, loves, hates, highs and lows - SELLS your book.

Cost is determined by your book goals, expected length and how fleshed out your ideas are. A full quote will be presented for the whole job, based on the scope of the chapter-by-chapter plan and discussion. This is a set fee, so the author will understand exactly what the final charge will be before they commit.

Payments are structured into installments over the period taken to complete the book, which is generally six to nine months. The first payment is required in advance, with a further sixth of the fee charged at the end of each subsequent month. One of the benefits of payments in stages, other than making it easier to budget, is that if the relationship doesn’t work out, or the author changes their mind, they can stop the project and only pay for the work done to date. All of this is presented in a mutually agreed upon and signed contract.

What is Ghost Writing?

Ghostwriting is the practice of writing material for another person who is typically credited as the author. Ghostwriters are hired to capture the voice, tone, and style of the credited author while bringing their ideas and concepts to life. Often, ghostwriting involves extensive collaboration between the ghostwriter and the credited author, with the ghostwriter sometimes conducting interviews, research, and gathering information to ensure the final product aligns with the author’s vision. Ghostwriting enables individuals to share their stories, expertise, and messages without the burden of learning the extensive art and craft of writing and story-telling.
